FAQ’s? here’s your answers
WHAT IS THIS ARCHIVE INTENDING TO ACCOMPLISH?
We are trying as a collective, to assemble information, stories, photos, etc into a product that can drawn for generations to come after we’re all long gone. The Archive Editor In Chief is using this website as a means of writing a digital book with the working title “Rock & Metal at 5280 ft. When Gen X ruled the Denver underground music circuit”. We are also trying to get this community together, in the most responsible way we can, to assemble one last time and working as ONE, make a statement so loud people at the year 2100 will wish they were us.
is this open to the public?
NO. We use the hashtag #IYKYK as a means of code to other people who are also involved in this archive.
CAN I PROMOTE/SHARE THIS ARCHIVE ON SOCIAL MEDIA?
NO. This is an invitation only private group. We do have a private FB page for people participating and it’s STRICTLY to update progress on the archive. The Editor in Chief will likely post on FB certain activities(Podcast for example) but this works like a speakeasy from prohibition in the 1920’s. We ONLY want people that WANT to be a part of this, and our cause is worth your time.
will everything i submit be posted on the archive?
No one is guaranteed a certain amount of coverage. All decisions by the Editor In Chief are FINAL.
WILL I BE ABLE TO INVITE PEOPLE I KNOW WHO I FEEL SHOULD BE A PART OF THIS?
We are a private, invitation only group. But odds are better than average that one of us already in the group either knows YOU, and/or knows who you might have in mind to check us out. So, we encourage you to share some stories with us via email, attend one of our Zoom parties starting in October, get a better feel for how we’re doing things THEN that would be a good time to ask us that. We want to have our act together, and we want to grow our group responsibly. This project is TROLL FREE.
will i get the opportunity to speak with the editor in chief prior to me wanting to accept an inviation?
YES. However, I’m going to need you to meet me halfway regarding setting up our phone or video chat. I respect those who prepare themselves to succeed with us, and I want to put you in a position to have a better understanding- so here’s what’s essential on your end to do.
In our chat, it will be best(I will insist on this) that you’re looking at this site from a desktop/laptop(Go to a public library if you need to), and have a pen and paper for you to take notes. I’ll answer whatever questions you might have but if you let me guide you around the site, you’ll see I’m confident how much fun this could be for all of us. But it’s your responsibility to show me that you want to make the most of this opportunity and ask anyone who knows me, a little respect given to me goes a long way. No one knows this better than Bill Terrell. Oh yeah, make sure if you’re in the metal circuit to make your first venues visit to the Blitz Room(If you were there) and pay your respects to it. Without the Blitz Room, there is no NIPP shows. No NIPP shows, No Ogden, No Bluebird, No Gothic. This is a story that the archive wants to pay tribute to.
